This architectural complex is themed around “breaking through the earth,” drawing inspiration from the power and hope found in the first moments of nature’s growth. The sharp peaks and sloping roofs resemble fresh sprouts pushing through the soil, reaching upward with vitality. The thoughtful combination of local gray and red materials brings energy to the buildings, expressing the strength and optimism of life. Blending with the region’s natural, historical, and cultural context, it embodies the local spirit and beliefs — from flat roofs and solid walls to vibrant paintings and delicate carvings — reflecting Markang, “the place where flames burn brightly.
